If, when you see our perspectives, you're wondering, "But how do they do that?", then this article is for you! Before getting into the heart of the matter, let's talk a little about the project. We've chosen to present Zermatt, a luxury hotel project located, as its name suggests, in the Zermatt Valley, Switzerland. The place is an invitation to contemplation and rest, as well as to reconnect with nature. It is inspired by traditional local architecture, the Walser house. A typical house of the region, skillfully mixing wood and stone. But, with a contemporary and luxurious aspect, brought in particular by the verticality of the architecture that structures the image.

Step 1 Modeling

Without further ado, let's get started on the first step: modeling! The general volumes were provided to us by the architect, and we then rework the model to match our internal work style. We then add lots of small details so that the result is as complete as possible for the framing stage.

Step 2 Creating and Validating the Framing

Once all the elements are in place, it's time to move on to creating the framing necessary to validate the viewpoint. For this project, the client had a precise idea of what he wanted: a framing that emphasizes the ceiling height and the openness to the exterior landscape. A frontal viewpoint was particularly appropriate to capture the straight lines of the project, the height of the vault, and the mirror effect of the water.
For successful framing, we always place the furniture specified by the client at this stage. If there isn't any, we make a proposal that we deem relevant. For Zermatt, there are no specifications, so we chose clean and simple seating, reflecting the project.

Step 3 Materials and Light

The materials specified for this project are mostly raw: stone and wood, in keeping with the spirit of the Walser house. This is particularly evident in the rock walls adjacent to the pool.
As for the light, it comes mainly from this large window, which creates this atypical ambiance, allowing for a natural highlight, as the project intended.

Step 4Post-production

Now let's move on to post-production. This is the set of retouching steps that will perfect the image, accentuate its strengths, and correct any imperfections. At Valentinstudio, it is performed on all versions submitted to the client, not just the final version.

Step 5Final Version

Before arriving at the final version, we discuss with the client and develop the image, taking into account their modifications in order to best meet their expectations. Each element has been worked on down to the smallest detail for the most photorealistic rendering possible, so our client can visualize it. We now arrive at the very last step: delivering the final version in HD!
